Summer Art Festivals

Laguna Beach has a long history as an artist’s colony, dating back to the early 1900s. Since that time, our art-focused coastal town has kept the tradition alive through art galleries, art organizations, and art festivals. The popular summer months bring a trove of visitors that not only come for the beautiful beaches, gourmet restaurants, and sunny skies, but also for the art festivals. Both tourists and locals alike flock to the Sawdust Art Festival, Festival of Arts, and Art-A-Fair to browse and buy art in every medium, from plein air paintings and hand-thrown pottery to fine jewelry and hand-blown glass.

In addition to the art, there’s also the live music, the art classes, the food and drinks, and the sense of community. Supporting our artists of every genre is something that Lagunans take pride. After the devastating downturn caused by the pandemic, the festivals are back this summer in full force with new artists, old favorites, great music, and interactive events. This year the festivals take place from July 1st through September 4th. Here’s a preview of what to look forward to.
