Press Trips

I typically book my press trips about three to six months in advance.

I do NOT typically attend press trips in June, July, December.

Disclosure:

When accepting a press trip, I will typically send a “soft pitch” to my editors to gauge interest and try to secure an assignment beforehand. However, it is difficult to pitch something I haven’t yet experienced and the angle of the story could change while on the trip. I will always pitch after I get back. Keep in mind that editorial coverage is not guaranteed and my review will be based on my personal experience.. I will work hard to find angles that will resonate with my editors and readers, and will pitch the destination/hotel for up to one year after my visit. I look at this as a long-term relationship that could result in multiple articles over a 12-month+ period.

I am a vegetarian and I don’t drink alcohol – I gave up alcohol when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. I do, however, love a good mocktail! So, I’m not always the best journalist to cover food and wine. I do cover wine country spas and accommodation though.

Social Media:
For press trips and brands I partner with, I will do social media stories, posts, and reels on my @SharaelTravels Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and Pinterest– free of charge. Please let me know any tags/mentions and hashtags you’d like me to use for each platform.
